Severe white mold pressure put the trial to the test

Yield advantage in the replicated 2025 trial

Dylan Wiebe

Altona, Manitoba

When Dylan Wiebe of LD Seeds decided to trial Heads Up® on his Manitoba farm in 2025, he couldn’t have picked a tougher year. Favorable weather pushed white mold pressure to the highest level he had seen in 12 years — even in a soybean variety with historically strong tolerance to the disease. As pressure increased, the treated strips began to stand out visually against the rest of the field.

LD Seeds carried the replicated trial through harvest, carefully comparing the treated and untreated areas. The result was approximately a 2 bu/ac advantage with Heads Up®. For Dylan, that modest response — combined with the product’s low cost, ease of application and ability to go directly on the seed — made a strong case for including it as a practical first step in white mold management.
